Additional Services

When you purchase your new puppy from Flaming Geysers Havanese, you are no longer considered a customer, you are considered extended family. With that, as availability allows, I offer (for a fee) day and night boarding services to help ease any anxieties you may have when leaving your family members. Your dog will be treated like they are “on vacation” like you are! We like to spoil our guests by providing them ample space to romp and play. There are very few rules they have to follow here and when they get home, you’ll find they are exhausted. If you are interested in boarding your dog with us, please call or text the number listed in the footer below.

Consider Adopting a Shavanese

Occasionally, because of a recessive gene in the Havanese breed, we will get a short hair, smooth coated puppy in our litters. These puppies are affectionally known as Shavanese. When the Sire (dad) and Dame (mom) are bred, they each give one of their DNA strands to create a new puppy. If both parents carry the recessive DNA Ff, there is a 25% chance a short-haired Havanese will be born in that litter. AKC breed standards for exhibition do not (yet) recognize the short-haired Havanese, and as a result they are not desired for showing purposes. Personally, I find Shavanese to be amazing and smart dogs! They have all of the same wonderful qualities and health benefits as their long-haired litter mates and while they look different and have smooth coats, they are one of the same. A great benefit of a Shavanese is they only need to be groomed a few times each year – maintaining their coats takes very little effort. As a breeder, I think in time, AKC may start to recognize these short-haired Havanese (Shavanese) and will find them just as amazing as I do! For more information about Shavanese puppies, please reach out, we may have one waiting to go home with you!
